Screen Wiper

Screen Wiper eliminates ghosting (leftover image artifacts) from your display. Before enabling this feature, try Temperature Profiles.

Ghosting occurs when there is a charge imbalance on your display. This means the ePaper particles are stuck with a smaller range of movement between positive and negative charge.

Our Screen Wiper resolves this.

Navigate to Plugins > Screen Wiper and click Save. This will add an instance of Screen Wiper to your device's playlist.

When your device wakes up and fetches the Screen Wiper playlist item, the firmware will kick off a special sequence of charge cycles that moves particles between positive and negative (white and black). Pending your device model this sequence may flash for 30-60 seconds, or up to 5 minutes.

When the sequence completes, your device will automatically show the next item in your queue and you can remove or hide Screen Wiper from your playlist. Here is the same customer screen from above, after running the Screen Wiper utility:

Because the Screen Wiper works just like a plugin, you can use the Scheduler to run it (for example) just once a day, once a week, or whatever is best for your display's behavior. To further eliminate disruption from your usual playlist rotation, consider scheduling it just after your device's "sleep" period ends.
