TRMNL's firmware has a couple interstitial screen with our logo and avatar. You can override these images without a single line of code using Tailor:

This is shown alongside instructions (WiFi, Friendly ID)  and error messages.

This is shown during wake cycles if you force-skip the screen to a new image.

Our firmware is open source, so you're welcome to modify these files, along with other things like fonts, font sizes, and beyond:

But for an easier experience we created Tailor, a simple utility that lets you drag and drop new graphics directly to your device, without writing any code.
