Your TRMNL X has a touch-sensitive bar running along the bottom edge, just beneath the screen. It's so perfectly hidden, some people don't realize it's there at all!
Where it is and how it's laid out
The touch bar spans the bottom edge of the device and is split into three zones: left, middle, and right. Each zone does something different, and you interact with it by tapping (the default) or swiping. You can change that behavior in the firmware settings of your device.
What you can do with it
Change screens
Tap the middle to skip ahead, or use the left and right zones to page back and forward through recent screens. Read more here: How to Change ScreensEnter Wi-Fi pairing mode
Hold both ends, as explained here: Enable Wi-Fi Pairing ModeTurn the device off
Hold the middle, as we show in this article: Turning off the TRMNL XSpecial functions and other gestures
We are still working on bringing more functionality to the new X, as explained here: Special Functions
If the touch bar feels off
If a long-press triggers instantly, or a hold gets treated like a quick tap, the touch bar likely needs recalibrating. This is quick to fix with a soft reboot, read more here: Recalibrating the touch bar
