In February 2026 we began selling a black / white / red / yellow display, powered by the same hardware as our OG model.

Even with just 4 colors, outcomes are surprisingly impressive. This is thanks to how colors combine to form a larger palette.

To get the most out of a 4-color display we suggest using it for infrequent content updates that are design-heavy.

Updates are very slow, around 13 seconds. The flicker effect may not be ideal for high traffic areas or for high frequency refresh rates.

In the future we'll have even more color options to choose from, until then you can explore Spectra 6 and similar technologies (all compatible with TRMNL BYOD) if 4 colors is not enough.
